Year in Review with STEM Ambassadors in Scotland

With STEM Ambassador in Scotland Week 2025 in the rear view, a thank you is in order! We have had a fantastic year working with all of our amazing STEM Ambassadors here in Scotland, and we wanted to fill you in on the scale of your accomplishments. We couldn't be more grateful to our volunteers, who give so much of their time and energy to inspire the next generation of STEM.

Highlights of 2024 in Scotland

  • 1,909 STEM Ambassadors volunteered

  • 35,642 volunteer hours completed

  • STEM Ambassadors volunteered in 36.8% of primary schools and 90% of secondary schools

  • Of those secondary schools that STEM Ambassadors engaged with, 85.8% had more than one visit

Highlights include, but are not limited to: working with Aero Space Kinross to deliver mobile planetarium events in primary schools across Scotland; storytelling sessions with Maths Week Scotland; getting to meet STEM Ambassadors at local networking events; visiting the teacher placements at life and chemical science companies as part of the Scottish STEM Placement Programme (SSPP); the huge amount of support and enthusiasm from STEM Ambassadors during SAIS Week; and more than we could ever list here!

We can't wait to see what 2025 brings!
